Lion king the full story part nine

Uru paced back and forth by an incline that revealed a dark land below with brittle vegetation and cracks in the soil. It was almost a lifeless pit surrounded by an evil presence. She backed up slowly listening to the crackle of dry bushes rubbing together.

"It's just the wind Uru," she persuaded herself.

Looking back Uru spotted pride rock on the horizon and the lush vegetation and sun behind her.

"The outlands are so... Evil feeling. But I can't give up, father expects me to do this and I shall with a little determination."

With that said Uru walked gracefully forward along the edge of the cliff that separated the two lands. She knew she could do a great job at patrolling as long as she believed in herself.

***

Dusk had fallen over the Pride Lands, the sky mashing navy, lavender and rose together to create a soft atmosphere.

Lulu, being as adventurous as ever was perched by a water hole not too far from Pride rock. She stared up into the sky in wonder, "Uru seems to always be the best... I wonder... If I will ever be noticed like she always is... It must be nice to be a Queen and have everyone bow down to her as she walks by..."

Sadness and jealousy slowly started to eat at Lulu's insides as she sat alone by the waterhole. Growing up with royalty through the past couple months had started to really get t her. Lulu was never noticed or treated special compared to Uru. Even Sina was becoming annoyed with all the royal protocols that only Uru herself could do because she was the future Queen of the Pride Lands. Jealousy was slowly but surely getting the best of Uru's two best friends.

***

Uru stopped after walking for quite some time now to see a slanted rotten tree that was against the cliff leading down into the Outlands. The night was settling quickly and she knew her duty was almost done for the day until she heard the snapping of branches or dry vegetation below. Jumping she screamed as her back foot broke through the side of the overhang causing her whole body to go with it. Clawing at the dry air she fluttered her arms until he caught the side of the embankment, hanging by the soft soil above. Panting she attempted to get her back claws into the bank but further down the soil became hard with less nutrients and impossible to dig her claws into.

"What do I do!" she screamed helplessly.

Gasping the soft earth above gave away under her weight, her world rolling in circles as she summer-salted down the cliff. Landing with a hard thud Uru smashed her head off the rough ground, everything going blank.

"HEHEHE!" voices echoed around the unconscious lion.

From the darkness arose many pairs of white, yellow and red eyes. From the shadows scurried many different hyenas of various brown and gray hues. Some had scars over them in odd places, tattered ears, patches of fur gone or missing teeth.  Breathing easy The Princess was put cold, her senses not picking up the danger around her.

"Oh would you look at this!" one hyena crackled, "A tasty surprise in OUR lands! HEHEHE!"

Another hyena stepped up beside his friend, scars covering his frail body, "Suka will be pleased if we bring back this lion for a feast! Then we can all eat together!"

Working together the hyenas circled around Uru snickering and cooing in joy.

"Hurry now!" one stated to the group.

Flopping the Princess over numerous backs of many hyena's they worked together dragging Uru into the depths of the Outlands.

***

After carrying the Princess for quite some time the hyena pack flopped her down howling in hunger.

"I'm too hungry to go on! Let's finish her now!" one snapped.

"Yeah! Let's finish her off!" cooed others in the pack growling and snarling.

Surrounding the unconscious lioness the pack licked their chops in excitement, thus having been their biggest meal in weeks. Without hesitation they sunk their teeth into Uru's copper pelt, warm blood oozing over their faces.

Roaring in pain Uru awoke, stressed out a she flailed about wildly feeling her adrenaline pumping through her veins. Letting out a bellowing scream she felt her body weak and shaking as blood trickled to the ground in many places. Staggering she struggled to keep her balance as her world started to topple again. Swaying her dark pupils flipped to the back of her head, falling to her side in exhaustion and pain. Breathing hard she slowly opened her eyes a little to catch a glimpse of something bright suddenly standing in front of her. He was a broad young male lion, his black main starting to develop on his head and down his torso against a beautiful brilliant golden pelt.

Not being able to hold on any longer Uru's mind went black in a rush, her world coming to a halt.

***

The young male lion lay sprawled out  in front of Uru, his chin resting on his paws as his lime green eyes stared at the Princess in awe. Leaning forward he gentely nudged her with the tip of his black nose waiting for some kind of response.

"Uhhhhh...." Uru groaned, "What... What happened...."

Opening her eyes to see a pair of lime green pupils staring back as her Uru screamed in fear pushing herself away from the male lion shocked.

"Who are you!" she bellowed.

Pushing himself into a sitting position the lion tilted his head surprised by her reaction, "The question is, who ARE you?"

Gritting her teeth Uru sat on her haunches, her heart pounding, "I am the Princess of the Pride Lands! Who dares to capture me like you have!?"

"Capture you?" he smirked, "Miss 'Princess' you haven't moved and inch sense I scared off those hyenas. They really took some good chunks outta you after all though, your probably weak and hungry."

"Well I guess I am hungry but I must go now... I ... I am probably in need of making my way home. It's night now anyways and my father is probably worried."

With that said Uru stood sweeping around as she limped towards the embankment in the far distance. With a raised eyebrow the male lion chuckled and staggered along behind her.

"Why are you following me!?" Uru blared with a snarl.

"Why wouldn't I be? After all if you are this 'princess' as you say you are then I've got to make sure you get back to your homeland alright. Those hyenas would probably attack you again if I were to leave your side."

Appalled Uru sauntered along, surprise in her eyes as thoughts raced through her mind, "What is this feeling deep down? I... I don't understand... Why should he care about me anyways? Who is he?"

After quite some time of walking together the lions finally reached the embankment that led up into the Pride Lands. Stopping at the base Uru glanced into those lime green pupils lost in herself. Having been such a quiet walk she was shy suddenly and didn't know what to say to him. Breaking the silence he spoke up, "Well common I'll help you once I get to the top so I can pull you up after me."

"Are you sure?" Uru questioned, "I'm quite heavy afterall."

Grinning Uru examined how easily he sprang up the side of the cliff, his claws like razor blades producing through the hard surface of the rock. All his muscles rippled down his back and through his arms leaving her is disbelief. Pulling himself over the side he disappeared, Uru's heart suddenly coming to life again feeling alone. Twisting and turning from side to side in fear Uru whimpered.

"It's okay," came that amazing crisp voice again, "I'm here."

Seeing him poke his head out over the ledge Uru's heart became filled with satisfaction again, "Okay and thank you for being here with me."

Smirking he growled, "Common now princess it's pretty dark out. You'd better be getting home."

Realizing his flirty attitude something washed over her emotions, something sweet and filling that she had never felt before. Leaping towards the embankment Uru slowly pulled herself towards the top until his paws entwined overtop of hers.

"Hang on a minute and I'll get you up to safety."

Feeling his charcoal talons gently pierce her pelt on her paws he carefully pulled her up over the embankment to suddenly lose his balance. Flopping forward  Uru screamed slamming down onto his stomach in shock. Together they burst put laughing, his chest moving up and down causing Uru to laugh even harder. Lost in each other's eyes the male lion grinned, his pupils wide in wonder, "So 'Princess' do you have a Royal name?"

Her pupils wide she whispered in his ear in return, "You can call me Uru."

Waiting for a response back Uru titled her head listening to his words, "Uru? What a pretty name. If you ever need me Princess Uru let me
Know, I will come accompany you for as a rouge lion I don't have a place to call home."

"Well if I ever do need you by an chance rouge, what may I call you?"

With a big smile and bright eyes he replied calmly, "Ahadi."

Nudging his cheek with her nose Uru giggled getting up off his stomach, "Alright Ahadi I suppose maybe someday we will meet again but for now I must go become a wise Queen."

In amazement Ahadi rolled over watching her slender body stroll away from him into the darkness of the swaying grass. Sighing he thought, "What a pretty lioness."
